LONDON'S MILLENNIUM FOOTBRIDGE

London's Millennium Footbridge

London's third Millennium fairground attraction !
(i) The Dome was condemned during construction
(ii) the London Eye provides a view (at a price) of Saint Pauls which the Footbridge now obscures
(iii) on opening, the £18M Footbridge was not fit for use.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; personally I have seen more aesthetically pleasing pylons.
It is noticeable how the Architect has avoided the publicity with this bridge, compared with the Gateshead Millennium Bridge where the Architect has taken all the credit and Prize money.
Rule number two is to learn by your mistakes. Rule number one is to learn by other peoples mistakes.
To all learning Engineers - beware.
